This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from (the “Site”). “We” or “us” will refer to Carla Tier Photography.


The data controller responsible in respect of the information collected on this website is Carla Tier trading as Carla Tier Photography.


When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”. We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

We may process information contained in any enquiry you submit to us regarding our services (“enquiry information“). The enquiry data may be processed for the purposes of contacting you and for offering, marketing and selling relevant services to you.

When you purchase services from us we may collect certain information from you including your name, billing address, shipping address and payment information (including credit or debit card numbers).  We refer to this information as “Order Information”.

Additionally, in providing our services we create photographs which may identify you, your family members and other participants and that may be considered “personal data”. Our photographs may be produced in print and digital format. You are responsible for ensuring that all participants in a photography session have been provided with a copy of this privacy policy.


We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We use the enquiry information collected to contact you to discuss our services and, when in line with preferences that you have shared with us, to provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services. 

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  Additionally, we use this Order Information as per the enquiry information. 

With your consent, we may use your photographs to promote and advertise our business, including in our studio and in our printed publications and promotional materials (including leaflets, brochures, stickers, bookmarks, posters); on our website and other digital advertising of our services; and in social media forums such as Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook.

We may use your personal data for other purposes which you have consented to at the time of providing your data.


Where you submit personal information for publication (Publication Data) on our website (e.g. testimonials, comments), we will publish and otherwise use that information in accordance with the license you grant to us.


We never share information with third parties for the purpose of allowing third party direct advertising. Your Personal Information may however be shared with third parties to allow us to complete orders, as described above. 

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.


Any credit/debit card payments and other payments you make will be processed by our third party payment providers. The payment data you submit will be securely stored and encrypted by our payment service providers using up to date industry standards. Carla Tier Photography does not directly process or store the debit/credit card data that you submit.


You have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.


We will keep your personal data only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or for the duration required by any legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements, whichever is the longer. In particular, we retain your personal data for 7 years after your photography session and we retain digital files of your photographs for 7 years. When you consent to receive marketing communications, we will keep your data until you unsubscribe. Upon expiry of the applicable retention period we will securely destroy your personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.


We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
