I’m a fully trained specialist newborn photographer based in Minehead and I aim to capture it all for you, giving you precious memories that you can look back and treasure forever.

What to expect from your newborn photo shoot

So, you’re expecting a baby and looking for a Minehead Newborn Photographer? Well, here’s a few things you should know:

The best time for you to have your newborn photo shoot is within the first 21 days after birth. During this time, babies tend to be sleepier and more snuggly, making it easier to capture those sweet, curled-up poses we all adore!

Your newborn session will last around 3 - 4 hours and takes place in my cosy, purpose-built photography studio just to the side of my home in Minehead, Somerset.

I know it can be tough to get out of the house so soon after welcoming your little one, but your newborn photo session is actually the perfect chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee while I take care of everything and work my magic.

I have a wide range of props, wraps, headbands, and colour options available for both boys and girls, so there's no need to bring anything along. That said, if you have something special you'd like to include, I’m more than happy to incorporate personal items into your photos to make them even more meaningful.

Natural Newborn

These sessions are perfect if you are looking for natural, unposed images with gorgeous neutral tones and fabrics. There's no props here; the focus is all on baby and you, capturing those tiny details, yawns and you with your baby.

Fine Art

These sessions include sleepy bed poses, complimentary colours, beautiful textures and hand picked props all coordinated and individually styled to create stunning fine art portraits for your family to treasure.

Why choose me as your Newborn Photographer?

Newborn photography isn't just a job for me, it's my absolute passion and I pride myself on being able to create stunning images that you will cherish forever.

Creating beautiful newborn images takes a lot of dedication, patience and knowledge to know how to safely care, comfort and pose your baby. Being a mum of 2 beautiful young boys, I know just how precious our little ones are, and safety is my number one priority over and above everything else. I've trained with one of the UK's leading, award winning newborn photographers on safe newborn practice, posing and safe handling and I'm also Paediatric First Aid Trained. I've also completed numerous online training courses with leading industry professionals and continually do so to ensure I stay updated.

I've invested in a purpose built newborn studio equipped with stunning props and fabrics to allow me to create absolutely stunning images that you will feel proud to have in your home.

How do I book?

Choose your favourite package from those listed above then drop me an email with your due date or baby's age so that I can check availability. Once the date is confirmed we can book your session and please don't worry if your baby is early or late, once you are in the diary the date can be moved.

How much does a newborn session cost?

Newborn sessions start at £39 which covers the cost of the session. A full range of digital products and prints can be purchased after your session, please contact me for my full list of packages.

When is the best time to book a newborn baby shoot?

I would always recommend booking your newborn photo session as early as possible, ideally from your 20 week scan. My diary fills up months in advance and I can only take so many sessions on each month and would hate for you to miss out. I'll set a very loose date around 7 days after your due date and prioritise your booking.

What if my baby will not sleep?

In my experience, babies always sleep eventually, even if it takes that bit longer to settle. I create a very sleepy relaxed environment using warmth, soothing sounds and a baby shusher to help your newborn drift off to sleep. If they still refuse, we can still capture some beautiful images of your baby awake!
